A Glamorously Unglamorous Life     - Julia Albain

 I love Team StarKid. This past weekend I got a book written by a StarKid in the mail, my excitement was off the whazzooo! (See what I did there?) I sat down on my living room floor and started reading. I did not get up until I finished. Julia talks about her big move to NYC and how lost she felt at times. Her writing was great even though her approach was casual. I connected with the book, I felt like she was letting me in and speaking directly to ME. 

Near the end of the book Julia talks about how A Very Potter Sequel came to her just when she needed the most. I stopped for a few minutes and thought about how Team StarKid came to me when I was in urgent need of something. As I kept reading I noticed the Julia that was talking was wiser and I felt wiser along with her. At the end I felt really good. I felt better about my situation but I was just so happy for her. I remember her part in Starship and her dedication to the SPACE Tour and I just smile because she is with her friend-family and she is happy and doing what she loves. I feel as if I made a new friend.

New Year, New Beginnings

Every new year is another chance. Some people think it is foolish to believe that a new year means a clean slate. I on the other hand think it is a necessity. Living in this world is difficult and just knowing that in this new year things could possibly turn in the right direction or that we could possibly reach our goals gives people hope. 

The beginning of the year is always the greatest, you feel at the top of your game, and you feel like life is gonna give you exactly what you ask for. The problem is reaching March when you sit there and wonder why you can’t keep going with things like you were doing them in the first two weeks of January. Not to worry though because the idea is still there and change is possible. 

Find new mottos (Mine is posted above my bed.)

Hang it up, paint it, tattoo it, scribble it, sing it. That is your fuel for this new year.

Follow it, dream it, live it. If you can dream BIG, you can live BIG.
